Scores killed in China floods

Al-Jazeera.net: Heavy rains in southern and eastern China have left at least 62 people dead or missing, besides forcing more than a million residents to flee homes, the government and state media say. According to the civil affairs ministry, at least 55 people are dead and seven others are missing following heavy rains in nine provinces over the last week.

Rising water levels in rivers are threatening towns in Jiangxi, Guangxi and Guangdong provinces. More gales and storms are expected in the coming days, the state meteorological bureau said on Sunday….
